July 25th is my birthday, and to celebrate I wanted to share the most important things I've learned in 46 years of life...

46 Things I've Learned in 46 Years

  1. Take the chance. Even if things don’t work out you will learn something.
  2. It’s ok to not get it right the first or second time.
  3. Say the word NO more often.
  4. Be deliberate about who you let into your life.
  5. It’s OK to disappoint people to protect your well-being.
  6. Treat yourself like someone you love.
  7. You don’t have to sacrifice. You need to prioritize.
  8. Find out what you are good at and connect it to something people need.
  9. Every day, spend time visualizing the life you want. Yes, every day.
  10. Let go of guilt.
  11. Make Gratitude a daily practice.
  12. Gratitude does not mean settling. It is a portal to receive more.
  13. Don’t spend time with people who undervalue or disrespect you.
  14. Mistakes are how we learn. Make many.
  15. Allow yourself the uncomfortable luxury of changing your mind.
  16. Your past does not need to define your future.
  17. Build generational wealth unapologetically.
  18. Keep learning every day.
  19. You do not need to suffer for the life you want. You deserve it just by being.
  20. Document your wins often. It’s easy to forget.
  21. Journal. Forever.
  22. It’s important to do things totally unrelated to your work.
  23. If you have an idea, it’s for a reason.
  24. Not everything will work out and that’s ok. There’s always something else around the corner.
  25. Ask for what you want. No one can read your mind.
  26. Nothing changes if you don’t.
  27. You may get what you want in an unexpected way at a different time than you thought.
  28. Begin with the end in mind, in business, and in life.
  29. The most powerful story is the one you tell yourself.
  30. Control your inputs: what you allow into your head.
  31. Forgiveness is for you, not them.
  32. People will gravitate to those with confidence.
  33. Holding grudges is a waste of your life battery.
  34. Seek out joy every day.
  35. Don’t ask “why me?” Ask, “now what?”
  36. Don’t try to do everything by yourself. There is no trophy at the end of life for overworking yourself.
  37. Speak up.
  38. You don't need everyone to like you to be successful.
  39. The more you make, the more you can give.
  40. Getting older is a gift. Enjoy every year.
  41. Ask yourself if it will matter in ten years.
  42. In 100 years, all new people. Take life seriously, but also, be light.
  43. Always look for the lessons.
  44. You have to believe in yourself first.
  45. There is always more.
  46. If you can feel it and see it, you can build it.
