Are You Dreaming Big Enough?

If not, why not?

Many people are surprised when I tell them I launched Nopalera in the middle of a global pandemic.

My response: What better time to do it?

As a 44-year-old single mom with student loans and no real savings, I realized that – pandemic or not –I could no longer wait for opportunities to find me. I understood that there was no “right time” to do what I’d always dreamed of doing. The only right time – always – is now.

It was clear that I was the only one that could make my life what I wanted it to be. The power of responsibility sunk in.

The key was allowing myself to think big. And knowing that this wasn’t just about me. This was about decolonizing the bath and body aisle. About building a team of kickass jefas in support of an entire Nopalera community. About creating a high-end Latina brand that challenges mass-market expectations.

It was new and scary, but what was the other option? To keep things exactly as they were. In other words: not an option.

What can I say? One year in, Nopalera has surpassed even my boldest vision. And it’s all because of you. If you’re reading this, it’s because you supported my dream. And now it’s your turn.

So this year, in the spirit of Nopalera, I invite you to dream big. Want what you want and allow yourself to go after it.  It may not happen overnight, but it definitely won't happen by accident.

And remember, there’s a whole Nopalera community out here cheering you on. ¡Échale ganas!
